Great Sunday Run in Chattanooga

I woke up early and drove down to the south side of the Tennessee River and started running down the River Walk here in Chattanooga. I turned into the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga campus, ended up down in the Norfolk Southern rail yard (I don't recommend this AT ALL... there were a few No Trespassing signs...) turned toward the Erlanger Medical Center on 3rd Street and made my way over to the Hunter Museum of American Art. From there I hopped on the Walnut Street pedestrian bridge over to Coolidge Park. I made my way around the park, back across the pedestrian bridge at sunrise and wound my way back to the car. What a great run through my wonderful town while everyone slept.

Workout:
Run, an hour and a half
Mobility:
Quadriceps Stretch
Hamstring Stretch
Foam Roller Work

Blessed Life in Chattanooga and the Workout

In the evenings I drive in to the gym and listen to "All Things Considered" and the NPR Newscast. Often times I have things on my mind like "When am I going to get to the lawn that needs to be mowed...", "I need to make sure the dogs get a long walk before bed..." or "Focus on my leg drive during my clean...." Then I hear the news and it becomes clear that that I am one of the luckiest people in the world. My life is cake. My home is not threatened by fire or flood, there is no excessive lead in my water, there are not car bombs going off in the market where I shop, I am not profiled because of the color of my skin. My life here in Chattanooga is truly blessed.... I need to try to remember that more often.

Looking for a New Home and the Workout

Tomorrow night we will be catching a red-eye flight from Phoenix to Atlanta and renting a car. We will drive to Chattanooga where we will be moving to in June and start looking for houses on Monday. Monday night we catch the red-eye back to Phoenix and drive back to Tucson for work on Tuesday.

It is a whirlwind tour but that is how it has to be. It is all very exciting and a bit crazy all at the same time. So tomorrow and Monday will be a day off from the weights. I am going to try to do a steady pace run after the workout today.... Monday will just be a complete "rest day".... I put it in quotations because it will NOT be restful!!
